My Internet Marketing Experience
Mood:  vegas lucky
Topic: The First Step

I used to be a computer consultant for large White Box distributors. Day in and day out we wholesaled out white boxes to corporations. Well, those days are gone since all the big manufacturers went direct.

So I turned my attention to Internet Marketing  and now I have a few items out there on websites to sell.

It turns out that creating an online marketing business for affiliate marketing is not all that hard. Getting it to produce a steady income on a regular basis is a little harder , but can be done.

I think the first rule should be that you need to research to find your niche. Go to the library and look at books, magazines and newspapers. Look at the patterns in the ads. This should tell you what people are looking for. You will find that you have to know exactly what you're doing and how the whole online marketing system works if you are to be successful at this .

This is how I found out what it takes to be an IM 'er (internet marketer). And that it is mainly a ton of research and work, but the return can be very good!

Now , that being said, learning all the details of this business can take you many years. I jumped into internet marketing thinking that my years of sales to the corporations would stand me in good stead. Not so, I am still learning at the incredible rate of every day. (Well, its an incredible rate for me at any case. )

Newbies, as there called , don't really realize that building a solid internet business base does take a lot of time and patience.  It will be a while before you can call yourself a webmaster in other words.

Newbies  have to realize that the web universe is an extension of what we think of as the real universe. It is a virtually new battleground that the Earth has never seen before and so the newbie has to learn what role he will play on this vast battleground  and how to learn its rules. It is also an unlimitted marketplace full of wonder.

As I go throught this topic  each day, I invite comments from my constituents about what is written in the annals of this hallowed place.

Till I get around to the next step. I reserve the right to change and update this at any time.

Don't forget to comment !
